The PET scan machine is a special type of camera with a computer to provide the required type of reading. 

PET stands for Positron Emission Tomography. It is an imaging technique that uses a radioactive drug (tracer) to reveal the metabolic and biochemical functions of the body’s tissues and organs.

These results can be shown in image scanning like that in Computer Tomography, commonly known as the CT scan.
