Supro’s origin can be traced back to Chicago in the mid 30’s where manufacturing company Valco began producing guitars and amplifiers under the Supro name. By the late 60’s, Jimi Hendrix was playing a Supro Thunderbolt amp on tour with the Isley Brothers while Jimmy Page, inspired by the raw tones of the south-side Chicago blues scene, cut seminal Led Zeppelin tracks on a Supro Model 24.
