A magnitude 6.8 earthquake struck the northern foothills of the Himalayas near the city of Shigatse in Tibet on Tuesday. At least 95 people were killed and 130 injured in the quake that shook buildings in neighbouring countries including Nepal, Bhutan and India. According to the Regional Disaster Relief Center, the earthquake shook the Dingri district in Shigatse, Tibet Independent Region of China at 9:05 am (Beijing time) on Tuesday. The depth of the quake was 10 km (6.2 miles) as reported by the China Earthquake System Center, reports Reuters. At least 95 people were killed in the Tibetan part, national TV broadcaster CCTV reported. Tremors were felt in Delhi-NCR and some north Indian ranges, including parts of Bihar.
